Cycling Big Rock via Johnny Doughnuts

What cyclist doesn't love a good donut? In fact, most of us would consider ourselves donut "connoisseurs". Nothing like a great ride with a casual stop for a coffee and maybe, a cronut! That's what we did this weekend. The Velocurean group ride left Sausalito and headed towards Big Rock on Lucas Valley Rd in San Rafael. Instead of the early morning meet-up for coffee, we hit the road and stopped at Johnny Doughnuts in downtown San Rafael's West Village. What a treat. These donut "artists" make the best in the Bay Area. The donuts are exceptionally fresh, baked daily with a number of options to choose from-traditional chocolate as well as their own take on the cronut- "Crodough". They even have vegan donuts and a gluten-free option as well. They're also serving up Equator coffee to accompany any doughnut combination you might order.

If you get a chance check out Johnny Doughnuts. If you're riding from San Francisco, check out Road Bike Culture's Strava Link for directions and you can also see the ride to Big Rock and over to Nicasio. For upcoming rides with Velocurean check out the Strava Group for details. See you out there!
